Smolt Trap Monitoring. Volunteers Needed!!!

The smolt trap ran almost entirely on the help of our wonderful volunteers in 2011!!!  We need help again this year to monitor the trap. We will teach all of our volunteers about smolt identification and how to run the trap. Montoring involves going out to a small fish trap twice a day, Mid April thru Mid June. We will be taking the fish out of the trap, identifying and measure them, and recording the information.The trap is in Enumclaw on Big Spring Creek. We of course do not expect anyone to do all days and/or times but if you are able to do one or two days at one or two times (am &/or pm) it would be great! We also need a talented volunteer to help alter or re-design our trap.

If you would like to participate in any way, please contact us at danielle@midsoundfisheries.org;

If you have any other volunteer interests please let us know!

Stream Side Restoration Volunteer Event!

UPDATE!!!
Mid Sound had a successful planting party! We removed a lot of English Ivy and Blackberry and planted over 100 plants along the main stem of Newaukum Creek! Thank you to all of our volunteers who could come out and play in the dirt with us and work towards a healthier watershed.

20th Year Celebration

Mid Sound Fisheries celebrated its 20th year of working towards salmon recovery.

Thanks to all who could celebrate with us!

We had the honor of hosting Senator Slade Gorton.

Our work is far from done, so please continue to support Mid Sound and our efforts to restore Pacific Northwest salmon.
