
Mid Sound has five full time employees
that implement our projects with the help of many community
partners and volunteers. While based in our Seattle
office, we also spend a lot of time in the field.

Troy Fields
Executive Director
Troy has worked for Mid
Sound for more than five years designing small and
large-scale salmon habitat restoration projects and
managing organizational operations. Troy has a
bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from Western
Washington University.

Andrew Pavone
Project Manager
Andrew
Pavone is a graduate of
Penn State University receiving a degree in
Environmental Education/Outdoor Recreation in 1999. He
started his career in the Northwest with North Cascades
Institute and eventually worked seasonally with the
North Cascades National Park and Washington Department
of Fish and Wildlife. Andy has worked with groups of all
ages doing presentations and educational lessons on
salmon ecology, forest ecology, whale ecology and marine
ecology. Andrew currently works in both Seattle and the
San Juan Islands as a naturalist/kayak guide. He is an
avid fisherman, kayaker, musician, boater and outdoor
enthusiast. Andy has been a project manager with Mid
Sound since April 2006. |

Brian Reese
Project Manager
Brian graduated from
Seattle Pacific University in 2004 with a degree in
Biology and has since gained experience
working in different positions, including habitat
restoration and aquatic plant survey across the State of
Washington. Before coming to Mid Sound, Brian worked for
Stewardship Partners restoring riparian habitat along
the Snoqualmie River. |

FRED REED
Restoration
Technician
Fred graduated from the Evergreen State College in 2006
with a degree in Environmental Science. Since then Fred
has worked with WSDOT as a Wetland Biologist Intern with
their Wetland Monitoring Program. Fred has also served
as a Fisheries Biologist aboard Commercial Fishing
Vessels in the North Pacific collecting data for NOAA
Fisheries. Fred comes to Mid Sound to broaden his skills
and get more involved in Habitat Restoration.

Nick Boyce
Restoration Technician
Nick graduated from the University of
Washington in 2007 with a degree in Geography and a
certificate in Restoration Ecology. As a student Nick
also worked as an intern conducting GIS analysis for
King County's Wastewater Treatment Division. By working
for Mid Sound, Nick hopes to gain restoration-related
experience while getting to work outside. |
