11/08/2025 Tree Planting and Habitat Restoration at Burns Creek

November 8, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group for a day of Chinook salmon habitat restoration! We will spend the day removing invasive plants and planting native trees and shrubs on a King County-owned site on Burns Creek, a tributary to the Green River which hosts a high number of juvenile Chinook salmon as they grow and prepare to begin their lives in the ocean.

Volunteers should expect to be primarily digging blackberry roots at this event, but everyone will have the opportunity to get a few native plants in the ground! We will provide instructions, a safety talk, work gloves, and all tools, as well as snacks, water, and electrolytes. Please plan to arrive on time for the start of the event as we will be shuttling from our meeting location at Metzler Park to the work site.

Everyone is welcome, but anyone under 18 years old attending without an adult needs to fill out a Youth Waiver to the event (This will be linked in the confirmation email after you apply to the event). Anyone under the age of 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult. Thank you!

What to Bring:
