DESCRIPTION:National Estuary Week comes to a close with an appreciation of the beauty of Point No Point. Bring your nature journal & capture moments up close along the Marsh Trail. Those who wish to get their hands dirty\, join Mid Sound on the N Beach for Sand Salmon. Dig in and sculpt a sculpin\, or a hairy shore crab\, a hovering heron or one of the myriad other critters that live within a healthy\, functioning estuary! Drop your journal off with Mid Sound on the N Beach by 11:45\, and it will be displayed tonight at the Bakery!*  Sand sculptures will be photographed by noon\, too\, so everyone can see your masterpiece at the Bakery\, too!

SUMMARY:9/24/22 Environmental Restoration Event @ Isaac Evans Park!
DESCRIPTION:Join Mid Sound Fisheries\, Green River Coalition\, the City of Auburn\, and your community members as we restore the shores of the Green-Duwamish River! We had such a successful planting season thanks to all of your help — now its time to make sure our new plants get the care they need to survive. We’ll be clearing blackberry from the areas around new plantings and prepping some sites for future planting! \nThe event will begin with a brief discussion that includes information about the site\, the partnering organizations\, why this work is important\, tool use\, and safety. We will provide work gloves\, all instructions\, and all tools. Please plan to arrive on time for the start of the event and allow extra time to find parking. \nPlease follow this link to sign up directly with VolunteerMatch! \nEmail erik@midsoundfisheries.org if you have any questions. \nCovid-19 Safety Protocol: \n\nBefore arriving at the event please check your temperature. If it is above 100.4 degrees please stay home.\nPlease stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms such as cough\, sore throat\, loss of taste and/or smell\nMasks will be worn within six feet of each other\, otherwise they are optional (we will also have extra single-use masks if needed)\nWe will maintain physical distance throughout the day.\nWe will provide a hand washing and sanitation station on site.\nWe will provide water\, but please bring a water bottle so as to reduce our use of single-use plastics!\n\nWhat to Bring:  \n\nGardening gloves/work gloves if you have them\, we will provide them if you do not.\nClosed-toe shoes are required! (ex: sturdy sneakers\, rain boots\, hiking boots. No sandals\, heels\, or flats)\nLayers of clothing that can get dirty\nLong sleeves and thick leg coverings to protect against thorny plants (shorts or capris are not recommended)\nRain gear -OR- sunblock and a sun hat (be sure to check the weather)\nFull water bottle\nSnacks

However you choose to spend National Estuary Week\, please do plan to join us for a Pop-Up Gallery & Closing Night Celebration we’re calling a SALMONCHANTED EVENING at Greenwoodes Farm Organic Bakery. The gallery hopes to feature the paintings\, photography\, poetry & journals of local artisans from 5-7pm\, with a silent auction ending at 6:45pm for those artists & patrons who choose to participate. For the rest of the evening\, let creativity be your guide… Sample the wonderful drinks & homemade organic fare flowing from Alicia’s kitchen\, and compare stories from your Estuary Week with the good people of Hansville.
