SUMMARY:8/24/24 Restoration Event @ Fenster Nature Park!
DESCRIPTION:Join Mid Sound Fisheries\, the City of Auburn\, and your community members as we restore the shores of the Green-Duwamish River at Fenster Park! At this event we are going to be removing a patch of blackberry so in the future we can plant native plants that will benefit salmon in the Green River. \nThe event will begin with a brief discussion that includes information about the site\, the partnering organizations\, why this work is important\, tool use\, and safety. We will provide work gloves\, all instructions\, and all tools. Please plan to arrive on time for the start of the event and allow extra time to find parking. \nEveryone is welcome\, but anyone 16 or 17 years old attending without an adult needs to fill out and bring the attached Youth Waiver to the event. Anyone under the age of 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult. (ex: sturdy sneakers\, rain boots\, hiking boots. No sandals\, heels\, or flats)\nLayers of clothing that can get dirty\nLong sleeves and thick leg coverings to protect against thorny plants (shorts or capris are not recommended)\nRain gear -OR- sunblock and a sun hat (be sure to check the weather)\nFull water bottle\nSnacks
