DESCRIPTION:Click here to register!\nJoin Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group at our most recently completed floodplain restoration site for a planting party! \nMid Sound just completed an in-stream restoration construction project on Bear Creek in Redmond and we need your help to get native plants in the ground and protect them by adding mulch rings! Work will include hauling mulch in buckets\, digging with a shovel in sandy soil\, bending/leaning to place plants in the ground\, and walking on uneven terrain. The site can be very muddy so dress in clothes you are comfortable getting dirty. \n**If you are under 18 and attending without a parent or guardian\, please also print and fill out the Youth Waiver Form attached to the confirmation email and bring it with you to the event!

SUMMARY:2/10/24 Restoration event at Fenster Park!
DESCRIPTION:Join Mid Sound Fisheries\, the City of Auburn\, and your community members as we restore the shores of the Green-Duwamish River at Fenster Park! At this event we are going to be removing a patch of blackberry so we can plant native plants that will benefit salmon in the Green River. \nPlease click here to sign up using VolunteerMatch! \nThe event will begin with a brief discussion that includes information about the site\, the partnering organizations\, why this work is important\, tool use\, and safety. We will provide work gloves\, all instructions\, and all tools. Please plan to arrive on time for the start of the event and allow extra time to find parking. \nEveryone is welcome\, but anyone 16 or 17 years old attending without an adult needs to fill out and bring the attached Youth Waiver to the event. Anyone under the age of 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult. Thank you! \n  \nCovid-19 Safety Protocol: \n\nBefore arriving at the event please check your temperature. If it is above 100.4 degrees please stay home.\nPlease stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms such as cough\, sore throat\, loss of taste and/or smell\nWe will maintain physical distance throughout the day.\nWe will provide hand sanitizer on site.\nWe will provide water\, but please bring a water bottle so as to reduce our use of single-use plastics!\n\nWhat to Bring: \n\nGardening gloves/work gloves if you have them\, we will provide them if you do not.\nClosed-toe shoes are required! (ex: sturdy sneakers\, rain boots\, hiking boots. No sandals\, heels\, or flats)\nLayers of clothing that can get dirty\nLong sleeves and thick leg coverings to protect against thorny plants (shorts or capris are not recommended)\nRain gear -OR- sunblock and a sun hat (be sure to check the weather)\nFull water bottle\nSnacks
