Orca Recovery Day + Duwamish Alive! – Riverview Park in Kent- October 19th

Join Mid Sound and our Partners Green River Coalition and City of Kent for a Orca Recovery Day and Duwamish Alive! work party at Riverview Park in Kent. Duwamish Alive events will be happening all along the Duwamish River and the lower Green River working to restore the health of the river. Orca Recovery Day is a single day of action taking place across Washington, Oregon, and California to help our Southern Resident Killer Whales.

We’ll be clearing invasive species like Himalayan blackberry, spreading mulch to create space for native trees and shrubs benefiting the Green River and the salmon, orcas, and people who depend on it!

Where:  Riverview Park in Kent
When:   10am – 2pm

For more information and to register, email: Stephanie@midsoundfisheries.org.

This event is part of Orca Recovery Day. Orca Recovery Day was first started by the Conservation Districts around the state, who have partnered with dozens of non-profit and agencies. We are proud to provide folks the chance to take action on this critical issue – by getting involved in actions that help salmon, the favorite food of the Southern Resident Killer Whales.
This event is one of dozens of different restoration and educational activities all around Washington.
